We have discussed many different signs for the Park Alley tavern. These were some of the versions we came up with for promotional purposes.

A quaint dining experience awaits you in Historic Olde Village Pickerington.

ooooo

The Park Alley Tavern is housed within the walls of an historic structure that has stood in Pickerington for nearly 100 years. The railroad workers, travelers and local residents all have frequented the building. Many stage coaches would hitch their horses to the rails out front and meander into the building for goods and a beverage. Because it has been home to a butcher shop, a general store and now a restaurant, the structure has served many a visitors over the past century. These visitors returned to the area for the hospitality and friendliness of the locals.

The village has grown, and the area has prospered. Now, you will find quite a few of the original buildings still standing in Olde Towne Pickerington, but none with more heritage and pride than the Park Alley Tavern! To keep with the historic tradition, the Park Alley Tavern will continue to serve those travelers as they were friends and family.

Stop by for a visit and discover a simpler time where folks smile and say "hello" to all passers-by. Pull up a chair in the Park Alley Tavern to hear stories from locals. Or satisfy your hunger with a deliciously prepared meal from our award-winng chef! We look forward to having you visit a spell and leave happy!

Park Alley Tavern - 19 N. Center Street

This property was originally the site of V.C. Hanna’s livery stable, built adjacent to the Brakebill Stagecoach Inn located at the corner of the property. In 1929 the Brakebill Stagecoach Inn burned to the ground, leaving only a vacant lot at the intersection of Columbus and Center Streets. The same year, John Harner purchased this portion of the property and constructed this building. The building was used for a hardware store. The property changed hands a couple times. At one time housed an ice cream shoppe by the Houser family.

In 1936 Ezra Ewing purchased the property. In 1938 a grocery store moved into
this building, operated by Charles Exline and Garland Patrick. Both Charles and Patrick were known for their sense of humor. The grocery store operated until 1966.

The upper level of the building has been the meeting place for many groups, such as The Rebekah Lodge, The Grange, and Boy Scouts.

The upper level had been restored in 2001 and currently is used for a Banquet facility for the community.

Park Alley Upstairs

Since 1966 the building has served as the home to a variety of businesses, and now, Park Alley Tavern, by Dan & Bertie Heitmeyer. Dan & Bertie Heitmeyer have been managers of the building since 2001, and opened the Park Alley Tavern on the lower level in 2009.
